On the ‘Join The Lobby’ podcast hosted by FaZe Clan’s Swagg and Matcrackz, Anthony Davis revealed a surprising insight into LeBron James’ gaming skills. Davis, a known gaming enthusiast himself, shared an interesting anecdote about LeBron’s dedication to Madden NFL.
Anthony Davis: “I used to play Madden like a lot.”
Swagg: “Were you better than Bron like get one-on-one?”
Anthony Davis: “Yeah”
Swagg: “Cooking him?”
Anthony Davis: “Cooked and it made him to the point where he like I’m locking back in and when I say he locked back in from that time in the bubble to right now.” (18:10)
“I think he’s maybe top a thousand in the world… Late in the season, he told us he beat the 164th-best player in the world. I think he plays 15 games a day, 20 games”
Davis revealed that he used to play Madden extensively and often faced off against LeBron. Davis confidently mentioned that he was better than LeBron in their early matchups, consistently winning their games. This competitive spirit, however, motivated LeBron to improve significantly.
Davis elaborated that LeBron took this challenge seriously and dedicated a lot of time to enhancing his Madden skills. From the time they were in the bubble to the present, LeBron has become one of the top 1,000 Madden players in the world. During the late season, LeBron even mentioned that he had beaten the 164th-best player globally and played around 15 to 20 games a day to sharpen his skills.
LeBron’s dominance in Madden isn’t just anecdotal; it is well-documented. He has been posting pictures of his victories for a long time, showcasing his prowess in the game. Even rapper ‘Doe Boy’ was shocked after being thoroughly beaten by LeBron in Madden NFL 24, acknowledging LeBron’s superior skills.
LeBron’s gaming abilities have attracted attention beyond the music industry. He accepted a Madden challenge from NFL star Micah Parsons, with a Lakers jersey at stake, creating excitement across both sports.
Additionally, LeBron has shown respect and sportsmanship to fans during his gaming sessions. In one notable instance, after defeating a fan 67-0 in Madden NFL 24, LeBron apologized to the fan who displayed resilience by not quitting the game.
LeBron James’ journey from being outmatched by Anthony Davis in Madden to becoming one of the top 1,000 players in the world highlights his competitive nature and dedication. Whether on the basketball court or in the virtual gaming world, LeBron’s drive to excel is evident. His transformation in Madden is a testament to his commitment to improving and achieving excellence in all his endeavors.
