Travis Kelce is set to make an election announcement very soon, if sources claimed to be close to the star tight end are to be believed.
The first presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump took place on Tuesday with many outlets claiming Harris was the victor in the debate. Many pundits believed Trump’s lack of focus and inability to provide pertinent answers to questions were the keys to his less-than-stellar performance against Harris.
Along with a dismal performance, Trump and his hopes to win the presidential race took a massive hit when pop megastar Taylor Swift announced she was endorsing Harris in the upcoming election. With Swift’s endorsement of Harris, those close to Kelce believe he will make a similar announcement in the coming days.
“Travis will definitely be endorsing Kamala and will be doing it very soon – perhaps within the next day or so,” a source told the Daily Mail. “After Taylor revealed her endorsement for Kamala, Travis knew what he had to do. he understood the assignment.
“He was very proud of Taylor for finally speaking out and he supports her in everything she does, this will be no different. They share the same beliefs and ideals and goals, and this is one of them.
“Together they both know that they can make a greater impact on fans and voters than either one of them alone.” The news that Kelce will be endorsing Harris comes hours after Swift posted on Instagram, revealing who she would be backing in the 2024 election.

“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight. If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country,” Swift’s lengthy post began.
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”
Additionally, Kelce’s announcement follows his attempt to attend the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago after Harris formally replaced Joe Biden as the choice for the Democrats. Kelce reportedly reached out to the Harris campaign about attending the DNC but was unable to go because the Kansas City Chiefs played the Chicago Bears, per CBS.
That said, Kelce has said in the past that he would be willing to visit the White House if the Chiefs win another Super Bowl, regardless of who is the president. In an episode of the “New Heights” podcast, the 34-year-old shared his intention to meet the president to celebrate a championship.
“I mentioned it last time, any time I get a chance to be recognized by the President of the United States and get to go with my teammates and a group of men and women who I had success with to the point we get acknowledged,” Kelce said. “I’m doing it every time no matter who’s up there at the helm.
“No matter what’s going on in this world. It’s just such a cool opportunity. I think representing the Chiefs up there, I wanted to do that for the Hunt family and all our coaches. I wanted to make sure I remembered that and got all those pictures and memories in the bank with them.”
