Dodgers Vs. Giants Game Preview: Will Smith Looking To Get On Track

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ road trip continues Friday with the start of a three-game series against the San Francisco Giants.

The Dodgers enjoyed an off day Thursday and are in the midst of a four-game winning streak. They’re in position to notch a third streak of five consecutive wins this season and have dominated matchups with the Giants not only this season but for multiple years.

Dating back September 2023, the Dodgers are 11-2 against the Giants, which includes winning five of six so far this season. Moreover, L.A. is 14-4 at Oracle Park over the past three seasons.

Landon Knack makes his second start since getting recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City but first since manager Dave Roberts said the right-hander was going to remain part of the Dodgers’ rotation moving forward.

Knack is 1-1 with a 2.10 ERA and 0.94 WHIP across five starts for the Dodgers this season. He made a string of starts during April, then was a spot starter once in May and last week went five scoreless innings against the Los Angeles Angels.

The Giants counter with Logan Weeb, who enters 6-6 with a 3.16 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in 17 starts this season. Webb has completed at least six innings in nine consecutive outings but is coming off allowing four runs to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Webb is a career 4-6 with a 4.05 ERA in 14 starts against the Dodgers. That includes facing them twice this season, which produced vastly different results.

On April 2, Webb allowed a season-worst five runs at Dodger Stadium. He then held the Dodgers scoreless over six innings at Oracle Park on May 15.

Will Smith is back in the Dodgers lineup after receiving an unexpected night off amid ongoing struggles at the plate and working through swing mechanics.
