Jeopardy! fans have an exciting couple months ahead as it has just been revealed that both Pop Culture Jeopardy! and the Second Chance Competition are bothsoon to premiere
Jeopardy! fans have a lot to look forward to as the game show has just announced the official schedule for both Pop Culture Jeopardy! and the 2025 Second Chance Competition.
This week, the trivia show took to Instagram to share the exciting news that they are only one month away from debuting their brand new spin-off series Pop Culture Jeopardy!. The page announced the thrilling update along with a smiling snap of former Saturday Night Live writer Colin Jost, revealing that the start date will be on December 4 and will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Pop Culture Jeopardy takes on a similar format to the OG show, but instead focuses on entertainment knowledge. The trivia topics featured on the new series will include movies, television shows, music, Broadway plays, books, social media, sports, fashion, Comic-Con, and more. But instead of contestants facing off individually, the show will be broken up into teams of three as they all compete in a tournament-style format for the grand cash prize.
Under the Instagram update, dozens of fans took to the comments sharing their excitement for the spin-off series to finally ready to launch. One fan wrote: “Let’s gooooo!!!” Another chimed in: “Should be exciting.” And a third eager viewer shared: “Hosting a watch party at my place.” While a fourth simply wrote: “Can’t wait.”
In addition to this news, Jeopardy! also announced the schedule for the 2025 Second Chance Competition. The upcoming tournament will be featuring 18 former contestants as they take the stage for a second chance at victory. The tournament is set to span the course of two weeks and will kick off on Monday, December 30.
The official press release for the tournament reads: “Second Chance features select contestants who didn’t become Jeopardy! in their initial appearances returning to the Alex Trebek Stage for the chance to change their destinies. The players who advance out of Second Chance will compete in the Champions Wildcard Competition for the opportunity to play in the 2025 Tournament of Champions.”
Many fan favorites will be taking the stage for this years’ tournament including Sam Cameron, Enzo Cunanan, Lindsay Denninger, Mike Ferguson, Jonquil Garrick-Reynolds, Drew Goins, and many more. After the Second Chance Competition, the winners will advance onto the Champions Wildcard which will then be followed by the coveted Tournament of Champions.
