Hugh Jackman reveals why going to an NFL game with Taylor Swift didn’t make him ‘feel great’ about his career

Hugh Jackman has revealed why Taylor Swift didn’t make him ‘feel great’ about his career after attending an NFL game with her last year.

Jackman, 55, made the comments at the world premiere of his new film, Deadpool & Wolverine on Monday

The Aussie actor, alongside co-star Ryan Reynolds, was asked about attending a Kansas City Chiefs game in October last year to cheer on Swift’s tight end boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Jackman, Reynolds, his wife Blake Lively, and several other celebrities were invited to Swift’s VIP lounge to watch the game at the time.

‘If you ever really want to kinda not feel great about your career, go to [an NFL] game with Taylor Swift and Blake Lively — and then you’re Blake Lively, Taylor Swift “and others” at the game,’ Hugh told People magazine on the red carpet on Monday.

The X-Men star was making fun of the fact that he was referred to as ‘and others’ on several media sites that uploaded pictures from the game night.

‘We’re just “and others,”‘ Ryan quipped.

The Deadpool & Wolverine co-stars were also asked whether they would attend another game with the pop superstar.

‘Oh, I hope so,’ replied Jackman enthusiastically.

Meanwhile Reynolds said that, ‘You don’t say no to that.’

It comes as Jackman and Reynolds’ film looks set to have a triumphant opening weekend.

According to Variety, Deadpool & Wolverine – the first-ever R-rated MCU movie – experts have tracked the movie to kick off with a $165 million debut weekend, which would be the best of the year, as well as any R-rated movie ever.

Although Jackman has had numerous popular and acclaimed roles, both in the US and in his native Australia, he’s best known for starring as Wolverine in the X-Men film series.

The first film, which was released in 2000, was his breakthrough, and Jackman returned for the higher-grossing sequel X2 in 2003.

The original trilogy ended in 2006 with X-Men: The Last Stand, but Jackman was back for more with a cameo role in 2011’s prequel X-Men: First Class, followed by his lead role in 2014’s X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

Although Jackman often took on a prominent role in the ensemble films, he also starred in multiple spin-off films, including X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), the confusingly titled The Wolverine (2013) and the critically acclaimed Logan, in which he played an older, alternate version of the character.
