Rather than dropping a new album, Rihanna keeps rising artists in her “repeat squad” rotation.

On Wednesday (Oct. 16), independent R&B artist Zyah Belle posted a TikTok tied to her new single “LYIN,” which showed Rihanna messaging her on Instagram months before the song was released in full. At the time Belle had only released a teaser of the song, which caught the Bad Gal’s ears.

“Okay, this is breaking news. You wouldn’t guess who’s in my DM,” Belle began the TikTok. “Bad Gal Riri–Rihanna. Yes, this is not a drill. Rihanna messaged me.”

“Not only that, she messaged me to tell me to drop the song–that just came out today, by the way,” Belle continued, showing the DM exchange with the “Pour It Up” singer.

Rihanna’s message read, “Just here to remind you to drop this if you haven’t yet! And if you have send me the title so I can put on da repeat squad.”

The message seemed to be a miracle for Belle, who’d been laid off around the time she first teased “LYIN.”

“I lost my shit,” Belle said about receiving the message from Rih. “I say ‘Sis don’t make me lose my shit on this Saturday.’ And then I proceeded to ask her for permission. ‘Do I have permission to post this?’ Because she’s very demure , very mindful.”

Belle followed up with Rih, sending her the official version of “LYIN,” which dropped this week.

“Rihanna is listening to my music, why aren’t you yet?” Belle asked. “What going on with that?”

Belle concluded by telling viewers to stream “LYIN” and “tell a friend.” “Because Riri is finna have my song on repeat and you don’t wanna be left behind.”

The Rihanna boost has also helped rapper GloRilla, who received a DM from the nine-time Grammy winner after the release of her single “TGIF.” “I know dis wild hypocritical, but when the album drop?” Rihanna messaged Glo at the time.

In a viral clip , Rihanna also danced and rapped along to the song back in June, from the night of ASAP Rocky ‘s AWGE fashion show .

GloRilla last spoke about her Instagram convo with Rihanna on 360 With Speedy , calling the singer her “long lost sister.”
