The genius reason why Cristiano Ronaldo wears nail polish with Mike Tyson also using same method

Cristiano Ronaldo paints his toenails but for a very good reason which other athletes follow.

The reason why Cristiano Ronaldo paints his toenails has been revealed.

Back in February, Ronaldo confused his fans around the globe after posting a picture with his son on social media.

It was noticed in the pictures that Ronaldo had painted his toenails black.

Fans were left confused with some asking “Why bro got black toenails?” and “Is no one going to talk about the black painted nails?”.

The reason behind Ronaldo’s decision to paint his toenails was later revealed.

As per German outlet BILD, the 39-year-old paints his nails to prevent fungi and bacteria as an athlete, he spends a lot of time in sweaty shoes and boots.

The polish effectively creates a protective layer and hardens the toenails, stopping them from being cracked.

It’s common in sports, particularly with track athletes and boxing and MMA fighters.

Heavyweight legend Mike Tyson is believed to have painted his nails in the peak of his boxing career.

And former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is also on board.

Ronaldo will go down in history as one of the best players to ever grace the football pitch.

At the age of 39, the Portuguese is still going strong after he captained Portugal at Euro 2024.

However, his bid for a second Euros title was dashed after losing to France via a penalty shootout.

Speaking after the match, he admitted that his Euros journey was over.

As per O Jogo, he said: “It is, without doubt, my last European Championship. But I’m not emotional about that. I’m moved by all that football means — by the enthusiasm I have for the game, the enthusiasm for seeing my supporters, my family, the affection people have for me.

“It’s not about leaving football, because if I do, what else would I need to do or win? It won’t be about getting one more point or one less point. Making people happy is what motivates me the most.”
