Liam Payne ‘could have been saved’ if hotel staff called ambulance instead of returning him to room where he died, source claims

Liam Payne could have been saved if an ambulance had been called when he collapsed in the lobby of his Buenos Aires hotel instead of staff taking him back to his room, a source has claimed

In a harrowing revelation, a family friend claimed that an earlier medical intervention might have saved Liam Payne after he collapsed at his hotel. Tragically, the 31 year old ex-One Direction member met his untimely demise following a fall from his third-floor balcony at CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday.

Before the fatal incident, Payne reportedly showed aggressive behaviour in the hotel lobby, leading staff to suspect he was under the influence of substances. .

Despite his state, the singer was escorted back to his room by hotel personnel rather than being given medical attention right away—a decision now deeply regretted. Moments after, the shocking sound of his fall echoed through the hotel courtyard.

The chilling contents of a 911 call made by the hotel reveal dire concerns for Liam’s wellbeing. The hotel manager urgently conveyed to the emergency services: “We have a guest who’s off his head on drugs and is destroying everything in his room. We need someone to come.”

The situation escalated quickly, prompting a second call where the manager declared the singer’s life “in danger”, highlighting the potential hazard posed by the balcony in his room. The distress in the manager’s voice was evident as they pleaded: “We need you to send someone urgently because, well, I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger. They must be in a room that has a balcony. And well, we’re a little bit worried he’ll do something, that he’ll put his life at risk.”, reports

A source has revealed heartbreaking details about Liam’s tragic final hours, claiming the singer “would have lived” if an ambulance had been called immediately when he was acting “erratically” in the hotel lobby. Instead, he was sent back to his room while “in a psychotic state”.

The source told The Mail on Sunday: “Liam didn’t have to die. Liam didn’t want to die. He had promised us all he would never commit suicide. He was looking forward to the future. If someone had called an ambulance when he collapsed in the hotel lobby instead of taking him back to his room and leaving him in there alone, in a psychotic state, he would still be with us.”

Police are now investigating whether Liam was under the influence of a powerful substance that can cause severe mood swings and aggression after photos from his hotel room showed white powder, tin foil, and a broken TV. No official statement has been made to confirm or refute these allegations.

Additionally, the source mentioned that Liam appeared “happy and in good spirits” earlier in the week during medical tests for his US visa renewal and had even received his favourite American-style chocolate-chip cookies from a family friend on the morning of his death.

The mate, who hung out with the singer that morning, observed he “seemed a bit tipsy, like he had been drinking, but wasn’t in a bad state.”

They mentioned he was “replicating” the 1D hit Fireproof on his computer because he wanted to redo the beat of his favourite tune. They also said Liam was “in a good place, planning for the future” and eager to return to Miami to be with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, who had flown back from Argentina to look after their dog.

Hotel guest Brett Watson, hailing from Chicago, shared with ITV that Liam had returned to the lobby multiple times before his tragic death – at one point becoming “very frustrated” and “smashing his laptop” in front of other guests. Watson alleged that the last time Liam was seen in the reception area, he “passed out in the lobby of the hotel, looked like he was convulsing a little bit and had to be physically taken back to his room.”

The insider questioned: “If Liam was convulsing. why didn’t the hotel call an ambulance immediately? That is what no one can understand. He never convulsed before. If he was that sick why did someone take him back to his room and leave him there alone, with an open door to the balcony? “.

They said: “If Liam was in a psychotic state he didn’t know what he was doing. He could have been trying to leave his room and he went to the balcony thinking it was the room exit and accidentally fell. We are tormented by the fact he was left alone in his room after he had convulsions and was clearly in a psychotic state.”

The National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No 16 in Argentina has confirmed they are looking into the heartbreaking incident as an “inconclusive death”. In a moving tribute, Liam’s sister Ruth Gibbins expressed her sorrow, saying she doesn’t believe “this world was good enough or kind enough” for her brother.

Sharing her feelings on Instagram last Saturday, Ms Gibbins remembered her brother fondly, stating that making her laugh was what she “loved most” about him and that she was “in awe” of his talent. Her post read: “My brain is struggling to catch up with what’s happening and I don’t understand where you’ve gone. What I love most about you is your ability to make me laugh, I never chuckle as much as I do when I’m with you with anyone else.

“I’m always in awe of your talent, it should be illegal to be so talented and just have the ability to not only be good at things but be bloody great at everything you attempt, without even knowing you’re absolutely smashing it each time.”

The heartfelt tribute unfolds as their father lands in Buenos Aires to sort out the repatriation of the 1D star’s body. Overwhelmed by support, Geoff Payne was spotted on Friday reading fan letters and cards outside the Casa Sur Hotel, expressing gratitude for the comforting messages from admirers.
