Evander Holyfield Didn’t Hesitate When Asked Who Wins Mike Tyson vs James Toney After Facing Both
Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson and James Toney are three towering figures in the boxing world.
All three of the legendary American fighters have been world champions on multiple occasions. Holyfield is one of only four men in history to have ever won the undisputed championship in two weight classes – cruiserweight and then heavyweight, and he is also the only four-time world heavyweight champion in history.
Tyson holds the record for being the youngest ever heavyweight belt holder having won his first title aged just 20.
Toney held multiple world championships in three weight classes, including lineal middleweight titles, the IBF super middleweight title and the IBF cruiserweight title. Although he twice challenged for world heavyweight honours, he fell short both times and retired after a title of 92 fights in 2017.
‘The Real Deal’ fought Tyson twice, beating him once by stoppage and once by disqualification after Tyson bit a chunk out of his ear. He was stopped by Toney in 2002 at the back-end of his career.
When asked by ESNEWS who would have won if those two had ever met and he went with ‘Iron Mike.’
“Mike would kill him. Mike would kill him. When Mike realised that he can hit you, he gonna get you out of there. I know when he hit me he had that power on the punch, Mike will clear you up.”
Despite the fact he retired in 2005 after two losses, Tyson is set to make a rather controversial return to the ring next month against Jake Paul over eight two-minute rounds in Arlington, Texas.
