đ¨ Eddie Hearn vows to walk out of fight out of ârespect for boxingâ
Mike Tysonâs clash with Jake Paul is fast approaching.
Many people in the sport have been rightly critical of the bout given the huge 31-year age gap between the fighters, including Eddie Hearn.
The Matchroom promoter will be in attendance at the AT&T Stadium on November 15 due to Katie Taylorâs rematch with Amanda Serrano in the co-main event.
But heâs insisted he wonât be sticking around to watch the main event.
Speaking to talkSPORT he said: âItâs difficult to give a negative opinion, because you become a âhaterâ.
âBut I get asked about it and Iâm just giving you my honest opinion. I donât like it.
âI think itâs a huge shame that someone like Mike Tyson, who is one of the biggest legends of the sport of boxing, comes back 20 years after everybody knew he shouldnât be boxing anymore.
âHe comes back 20 years on at 55 or however old he is.â
He was then informed that Iron Mike is in fact 58 years old.
âJesus Christ, heâs nearly 60.
âLike, you have no respect for the sport of boxing if you put Mike Tyson in a ring at 58 years of age.
âAnd if he gets hurt, then itâs on those people. I think itâs very sad for the sport of boxing.â
âIâll watch Katie Taylor and then Iâll leave. I canât watch that.â
