Fans left horrified as they say new movie is unnervingly similar to Diddy ‘freak off’ party allegations

Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum’s new movie arrived just weeks before an indictment about Sean Combs was released

Movie fans have been comparing the plot of a new Zoë Kravitz movie to allegations that have come to light about events thrown by P Diddy.

The rapper, whose real name is Sean Combs, was arrested on September 16 after being hit with a series of lawsuits filed by women who have accused him of sexual assault.

The charges against Combs relate to sex trafficking, drug possession and firearms offences, with an indictment claiming he allegedly encouraged female victims into sexual performances with male sex workers which were dubbed ‘freak offs’.

The ‘freak offs’ have been referred to more than a dozen times in the indictment, and have been described as ‘elaborate and produced sex performances that Combs arranged, directed, masturbated during, and often electronically recorded’.

After the allegations came to light, some movie fans drew comparisons to a new film directed by Kravitz starring Channing Tatum, which tells the story of a tech billionaire (Tatum) who invites a cocktail waitress (Naomi Ackie) to his private island.

It sounds like a dream trip, but before long, strange things start to happen which make Frida question the world around her.

The movie, which marks Kravitz’s directorial debut, arrived in theatres in August, meaning it was written and filmed before the indictment about Combs was released.

However, some film fans have drawn comparisons between the movie and Combs’ parties.

One person on Twitter said the movie’s plot is eerily similar to the allegations against Diddy, along with what happened on Jeffrey Epstein’s island.

“Blink Twice shook me to my core. I feel sick. I don’t even want to think about it too much. Esp with the Diddy situation,” wrote a second.

Fans have also praised Kravitz’s for highlighting examples of exploitation and assault.

“Watching Zoë Kravitz’s Blink Twice last night was only made creepier by yesterday’s revelations about P. Diddy and his ‘freak offs’,” one Twitter user wrote, adding: “Good movie, horrific basis in reality.”

Kravitz spoke about the creation of Blink Twice to Indie Wire, admitting she ‘didn’t have a plan’ while writing it, but that she simply ‘felt the emotion behind it’.

“It was speaking to something that isn’t spoken about enough,” she said. “And I think all of the women that were involved in that show were just happy to have such wonderful characters and something so personal and juicy and necessary.”

Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
