Eamonn Holmes is preparing to air his side of his sad split with wife of 14 years Ruth Langsford. The former This Morning presenter has already moved out of their family home

Eamonn Holmes has agreed to open up about his split with Ruth Langsford in his first TV appearance since announcing their split.

The couple shocked fans with a statement this weekend confirming that their 14 year marriage was over.

It has now been revealed that shortly before the news was shared by their representatives, Eamonn walked out of their family home. Eamonn, 64, is said to have left their £3.25million Surrey mansion behind and is now living at a property nearby to give Ruth space.

Amid his heartache, Eamonn is gearing up to tell all about his second divorce when he returns to GB News on Monday. A source said the TV presenter knows fans will want to hear from him and he will not shy away from sharing his side.

“Eamonn is always frank on camera and knows it will be odd for him to discuss the day’s news without mentioning his split so he’ll say a few words,” they confirmed.

“He is putting on a brave face and will be the true professional he always is. Focusing on work will be a welcome distraction,” the source told The Sun.

It has since been claimed that the couple split over a year ago but had been battling behind the scenes to try and make things work. Another source said Eamonn had no intention of going public with the news yet with Saturday’s joint statement being Ruth’s idea as she was ‘determined’ to walk away.

The Irish presenter reportedly told friends he ‘didn’t want to get involved’ and said ‘Ruth can do what she wants but keep me out of it’.

“Eamonn’s preferred way was not to tell anyone. Deep down he knew it couldn’t carry on but he was kind of sticking his head in the sand. He is very upset indeed,” they told the Mail On Sunday.

Yesterday, the couple’s leading of separate ‘lives’ was blamed on their break-up with a sources saying their work ‘pulled them in different directions.’

The duo had worked closely together on This Morning until they were given the boot in 2020. While Ruth stayed with ITV to co-anchor Loose Women, Eamonn moved over to GB News and made a series of parting shots at his former employer following his departure.
