As if the drop in viewership and rating for Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals was not enough, the attendance also fell short compared to the one at Caitlin Clark’s game the following day.
CP recently shared a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) comparing the number of attendees at the first game between the NBA finalists Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics to the WNBA game between the Indiana Fever and the Washington Mystics.
Looking at the Celtics’ history, one can imagine the massive fan following the franchise has gained over the years. On the other hand, there is Mavs star Luka Doncic, whose fanbase is also increasing. However, they attracted only 19,156 fans at the TD Garden, whereas 20,333 fans turned up at the Capital One Arena to get a glimpse of the Fever rookie, which shows the fan base Clark has built and the impact she has on them.
