Angel Reese Unleashes On Her Critics Who Attacked Her For Attending Met Gala The Night Before WNBA Game

Angel Reese celebrated her 22nd birthday Monday by flying to New York to walk the red carpet at the prestigious Met Gala. The Met Gala, Vogue’s annual celebration of fearless fashion, was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday night.

The dress she donned at the Met Gala on Monday was a piece from 16 Arlington.

Given that she had a game the next day, Angel Reese faced much backlash for going to the Gala. She participated in her second WNBA preseason game with the Chicago Sky the very next evening. But this time, without Kamilla Cardoso, a fellow rookie, and the third overall choice, she stole the show.

Reese scored 13 points, pulled down five rebounds, and only committed one foul in just 19 minutes. She stood her ground against the league’s MVP-winning player and sent a strong message to anyone who had doubts about her.

“so now yall can delete them drafts & tweets saying i shouldn’t have gone to the Met Gala & i can’t do both. I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME,” Reese posted on X.

She included two pictures. One shows her practicing shots on the court and the other rocking her gorgeous outfit, the Met Gala.

In her first two preseason games, Angel Reese has shown why she was a formidable player. The New York Liberty was outmatched 101–53 by The Sky. As the regular season approaches, Reese will still offer must-watch basketball in the Windy City.
