Los Angeles Dodgers’ star pitcher, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, is on the brink of returning to the mound as he steps up his recovery process. Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts revealed that Yamamoto has started plyometric exercises using a ball and may begin throwing exercises as early as next week.
According to DodgersBeat, Roberts is optimistic about Yamamoto’s progress, stating that the ace could start playing catch by the end of next week if everything goes as planned. This update comes after a concerning stint on the injured list starting June 15, due to a right rotator cuff strain incurred during a game against the Kansas City Royals. After displaying a noticeable drop in pitch velocity, Yamamoto was removed after just two innings, with the team promptly sidelining him to prevent further complications.
