The offense of the New York Yankees once again fired on Sunday as Giancarlo Stanton lead the charge. The slugger hit a monstrous grand slam which powered his team to a 8-3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Stanton would crush a 2-2 pitch from Bowden Francis in the third inning to break the tie. This 417 feet bases clearing home run turned out to his 11th career grand slam and his sixth one in a Yankee shirt. His previous grand slam came a few weeks ago in a Spring training game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The moment the ball connected with the bat, the 34-year-old star knew he had blasted one to the bleachers.

Sometimes you know it off the bat.

Stanton said after the game.

After launching the ball, Stanton would watch the ball fly into the left field wall. While celebrating this moment, he would proceed to flip the bat before jogging around the bases.

After beginning the season with a record of 3-for-24, Stanton has shown signs of improvement in the last two games while going 4-for-8. He though claimed he needs to work on putting four or five good at-bats instead of occasional one great at-bat.

It’s good. Over and over again, game after game, just continue to have good at-bats. Put all four or five of them together, not just one or two, and good things will continue to happen.

Giancarlo Stanton said in a post match conference.

Speaking in the press conference after the game, Boone praised Stanton and labeled his home run as the “blow of the day“.

Yeah that was a jolt... Guys had really good at-bats in front of (Stanton) to set that situation up. He got a pitch that he didn’t miss. It turned out to be the blow of the day. G has been in the at-bats all year; just not getting the results yet, with some swing-and-miss in there. The last couple of days, it’s good to get some results.

Aaron Boone said on Giancarlo Stanton’s grand slam in a post match conference.

The Yankees are now 8-2 in the first 10 games of the season. This positive run which kick started with a four-game sweep of the Astros, has seen the Bronx Bombers as the early pace setters in the league. They will now face the Miami Marlins, who won their first game of the season on Sunday, before locking horns with the Cleveland Guardians, who themselves have started the season strong.
