Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Jordan Mailata believes ‘there’s no shot’ Jason Kelce plays for the team next season.  

Mailata did not speak to Kelce playing for another team in 2024, as the center is out of a contract in March.

However, based on Kelce’s recent actions, Mailata gives the impression a Kelce retirement from football would be his only other option if he does not return to the Eagles.

Kelce has met with ESPN, Fox Sports and Amazon about a possible broadcasting career, per NBC Sports.

After Philadelphia’s Wild Card Round loss to the Buccaneers last month, Kelce reportedly told teammates in the locker room he was retiring, which he refuted. Kelce has yet to make a declaration on his football future at all since the Eagles’ season ended.

Kelce was seen looking dejected and tearful after the 32-9 blow-out postseason loss to Tampa Bay. Kelce brother spent a moment with his family in the stands before a slow walk into privacy.

The 36-year-old’s most recent public appearances have been at the playoff games of his younger brother, Travis Kelce, wildly celebrating the successes of the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as the Pro Bowl Games.

The elder Kelce went shirtless and chugged a beer with fans in Buffalo and at the Super Bowl, partied long into the morning with the Chiefs wearing a Mexican wrestling mask.

‘There’s no shot,’ Mailata told NBC Sports Philadelphia. ‘You’re telling me he’s going shirts off in the games, gambling in the casinos, he’s coming back? No way. He’s having too much fun.’

‘He’s out there living his life. And I’m going to miss him for sure, man,’ Mailata added. ‘This has been the greatest six years of my life for sure, being here in the NFL and getting to meet people like Jason Kelce.’

Neither Kelce has put a timeline on when the offensive lineman intends to announce his future plans.
