Ethan Hawke’s adolescent kids were supposedly unimpressed with his appearance in Taylor Swift’s music video for “Fortnight.”When Hawke’s daughters, Clementine, 15, and Indiana, 12, learned about their father’s cameo, “the look on their faces was one of profound disappointment,” he remarked on Monday’s broadcast of “The Late Show.” 

That is because, according to the “Dead Poets Society” actor, Swift asked the incorrect Hawke.”‘Don’t pay attention to my dad, my dad’s an idiot,’” Hawke joked about his daughters’ true feelings regarding Swift’s choice. “‘You should be calling me.’”Hawke starred in the music video for “Fortnight,” the lead song from Swift’s latest album “The Tortured Poets Department,” alongside his “Dead Poets” co-star Josh Charles.The “Leave the World Behind” actor told “Late Show” presenter Stephen Colbert last week that he understood his daughters’ perspectives as young Swifties, stating, “Taylor belongs to them.” I cannot have that on them.“Hawke did, however, enjoy keeping this monster a secret not only from his own girls, but also from the Swifties he and Charles spotted wearing “Eras Tour” gear at the airport while traveling to make the video.”We got something on them,” he laughed as he remembered thinking.“We’re going to meet the queen ourselves right now.””Fortnight,” which features a collaboration with Post Malone, has maintained at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a second week after debuting at number one.”For Josh and I, we laughed ourselves silly the whole day,” Hawke recalled of the shoot. “We felt like the biggest rock stars in the whole world.”
