The Los Angeles Dodgers have decided to part ways with infielder Jonathan Arauz, whose player profile on MLB.com now lists him as a free agent. Arauz, who played multiple infield positions at Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, posted a batting line of .227/.286/.324 during his three-month stint in the Dodgers’ minor league system.

Prior to joining the Dodgers, Arauz was a part of the New York Mets organization, where he elected to become a free agent following his designation for assignment at the close of the previous season. During his time with the Mets, he participated in 100 games for their Triple-A affiliate, the Syracuse Mets, and made 27 appearances in major league games.

Arauz’s career began when he was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies as an international free agent in 2014 at the age of 16. He was later traded to the Houston Astros as part of a deal for Ken Giles. After spending four years in the Astros’ farm system, Arauz was picked by the Boston Red Sox in the Rule 5 Draft before the 2020 season.

Arauz’s major league journey included stints with the Boston Red Sox, Baltimore Orioles, and the Mets, during which he appeared in 95 MLB games and earned a career slash line of .184/.253/.308 over 262 plate appearances.
