Pitcher Caleb Ferguson has already seen his role reduced, left out of crucial game moments in the recently concluded Red Sox series. With other relief pitchers handling previously assigned duties effectively, it seems suggesting a Designated for Assignment (DFA) status for Ferguson might be forthcoming unless a stark turnaround happens.
Meanwhile, outfielder Trent Grisham’s early promise has been overshadowed by a significant drop in engagement and performance. Even Boone’s decisions have paradoxically rewarded Grisham’s underwhelming performances with higher batting order placements, a move that baffles many and calls Boone’s judgment into question.
