Captioned, “Hang in there, baby. #Jeopardy!” the video post featured a collage of headlines reporting that Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune had been removed from TV services and streaming platforms.

One headline read, “Jeopardy! fans distraught as show’s only streaming platform ends its service ‘without warning.'”

“Both Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune channels are down,” another announced.

“Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune fans fume and sudden removal from only streaming home,” read a third.

Viewer comments were also included in the collage, one person asked, “Where can I stream Jeopardy???”

“Is any of this available anywhere to stream?” questioned a second fan.

“Where can you watch Jeopardy! these days?” asked another.

A fourth wrote, “Guess I really did get to my Final Jeopardy [crying emoji].”

The fan complaints then faded away revealing Jeopardy’s classic blue color scheme.

A message then appeared, reading, “We hear you.
Ken Jennings praised as ‘funniest man on TV’ as Jeopardy! host jokes ‘gross!’ after correcting players’ wrong responses
“Stay tuned for the latest Jeopardy! streaming news,” the announcement concluded.

In the post’s comment section, one commenter pleaded, “Please don’t make me pay for a new streaming service,” fearing that Jeopardy! would only be available on a streaming platform.

“Miss the days you could watch jeopardy on Netflix,” commented another.

“You mean i wont have to watch bootlegs on youtube anymore,” a third fan joked.

Jeopardy! Universe

Jeopardy! first aired in 1964 until 1975. Then the nighttime version began in 1974. Since then, many spinoffs of the game show have emerged. Here they all are:

Jeopardy! – (syndicated) 1974 to present, weekdays on ABC at 7 pm ET.

Tournament of Champions – 1984 to present, features the top champions who have appeared on the show since the last tournament.

Second Chance Tournament – 2022 to present features hand-selected non-winners from the season prior, where the prize is entry into Champions Wildcard.

Champions Wildcard – 2023 to present, features all one, two and three-day champions from the season prior worth entry into the Tournament of Champions.

Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament (syndication) – 2023 to present, features past greats invited by producers to vie for a slot in Masters.

Jeopardy! Masters (primetime) – 2023 to present, features the six highest-ranked Jeopardy! champions competing against each other.

Celebrity Jeopardy! (primetime) – 1992 to present, has celebrities compete against each other to raise money for charity.

Pop Culture Jeopardy (streaming) – 2024 to present, will feature teams of three tasked with pop culture trivia on Amazon Prime, hosted by Colin Jost, airdate TBD

Jeopardy! has done away with specialized tournaments like its College Tournaments, Kids Week, and Professor’s Tournament to gear towards a more sports-like model, with Masters being the top of the Jeopardy pyramid.

Other versions of Jeopardy! have fizzled out throughout the years as well, like Sports Jeopardy!.

A fourth person wrote, “The only reason I watched Pluto TV was for JEOPARDY and I was heartbroken when I opened the app and it was gone! My 2 year old knew Pluto Tv as ‘jeepody.'”

“Please tell us it’s going to be on a common steaming platform!!” demanded a fifth.

One person asked, “Wait, it’s still on cable though right?”

“Yes still on cable mon-fri – unless there’s a football or baseball game on,” responded another.

ABRUPT END

Last month, Jeopardy! fans were up in arms after the iconic game show abruptly ended its service on Pluto TV.

The platform was the only way fans could watch the show, which is famously unavailable aside from being on cable.

Pluto TV is a free, live-stream TV and on-demand video service from Paramount with more than 300 live channels.

Since 2022, one of those channels has been devoted to Jeopardy!, airing reruns from the Alex Trebek era 24/7.

At least, that was the case until Wednesday, July 31.

Suddenly, the dedicated channel for Jeopardy! (and for Wheel of Fortune) stopped working.

The website posted over the live feed, now a black screen, “Jeopardy! hosted by Alex Trebek is no longer available on Pluto TV.”

The timing hit particularly hard because the game show is currently on its annual summer break, and fans were looking forward to binging Jeopardy! online.

The live feed aired OG episodes that could not be found anywhere else, including Ken Jennings’ original run.

‘MOMENT OF SILENCE’

Fans took to Reddit in shambles over what appeared to be the sudden cancellation of the beloved Jeopardy! service.

“Both Jeopardy and Wheel Of Fortune channels are down,” one Redditor started a thread upon the discovery.

“I’m not sure if this is just temporary or if it’s just down completely, but both Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune just shut down on Pluto TV without any warning.”

“The Jeopardy channel was working just a few hours ago. is anyone else having problems?”

Other fans confirmed that the platform was no longer showing Jeopardy! for them and lamented over what appeared to be the end of the agreement.

One noted, “The original deal for both channels starting back in 2022 was only for two years, so I’m guessing it’s expired; there’s a chance it could move to yet another streaming service, but I hope it stays on Pluto. It’s so much more convenient.”

Another wrote, “I hope it stays on PlutoTV, too. I love watching those reruns for free anytime both on demand and their own channel.”

“A moment of silence, please,” wrote a fourth.

“Yeah, they no longer seem to be available to me. Some heads-up would have been nice to warn us when their deal expired,” wrote a fifth.

“I hope this is just temporary,” wrote a sixth. “I’ll be completely bummed with no Jeopardy.”

“Please no – not when season 40 is ending as well Please don’t let it be!” wrote one more.

The U.S. Sun has contacted Pluto TV for comment to clarify whether its relationship with Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune has fully ended.

Later, Vulture confirmed that Pluto’s agreement with Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune had officially ended.
