Dodgers Breaking: A New Los Angeles Dodgers Player Is Making History

The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the hottest teams in the majors and they remain focused on one goal, winning the World Series. During the offseason, the franchise signed some top players to move closer to their goal. With only two weeks into the regular season, the Dodgers are picking up the pace. One player who has been in the spotlight is none other than Shohei Ohtani.

The two-way star recently crossed a milestone with his team. Ohtani recorded the most number of extra-base hits in 14 games since at least 1901. He put up 12 extra-base hits as he’s the first Dodger to reach that milestone in that span. When playing against the Chicago Cubs, Ohtani recorded four extra-base hits after going 6-for-13. The Dodgers seem to be getting every penny of the $700 million paid for the Ohtani. He’s also getting comfortable with his new teammates and surroundings.

Shohei Ohtani Records Most Extra-Base in 14 Games

The Dodgers depend on Ohtani to perform in crucial games. Most importantly, they are keen on Ohtani’s performance in the postseason. Ohtani is holding a batting clip of .333 with a 1.012 OPS.

The slugger has smashed three home runs and eight RBI. Despite his slow start, Ohtani is performing at a steady pace.

It’s hardly a surprise development from a player with two MVP awards and the largest contract in baseball history. As far as his pitching goes, Ohtani has a long way to from returning to the mound.

The team is still targeting a 2025 comeback from his second Tommy John surgery.

With the betting scandal out of the way, Ohtani will have more time to concentrate on baseball. The latest reports have stated that his former interpreter Ippei Mizuhara will plead guilty for bank fraud.
