Tokyo believed for a split second that the musician was going to play two new songs from her unreleased album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” months before its release.
Swift declared to the audience in Japan on Thursday night that she would be performing two “brand new songs” that she had never played live before. Taylor was clutching her guitar, preparing for the evening’s acoustic act, when the audience burst into applause at her comment.
“I’ve been trying to push myself to play songs that I’ve never performed live before, or at least not on this tour. “So I’ve chosen two brand new songs that I’ve never performed before,” Swift remarked.
