Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors

Gwen Stefani just gave fans a sneak peek of her new music on social media, and fans are over the moon.

Stefani, who has been teasing her fans about new music all week on her Instagram, posted a Reel on Wednesday, September 11, of a studio session recording a new song. A close-up shot of a sheet of guitar tabs and lyrics seemingly revealed the song’s name, “Somebody Else’s,” while a snippet of it played in the background. The 54-year-old captioned the post, “🌻 🧡,” which is on theme with the other teasers from the week – a throwback photo of her smelling some flowers and a mysterious reel of a flower blooming.

Fans were ecstatic about the Reel, to say the least. “The flower 🌸 BLOOMED!! 💐✨🎶,” said one fan, while another commented, “Can’t wait and hopefully a new album!!!🧡🌻” A third fan noted about the “Don’t Speak” songstress, “Still got it!” referring to her incredible vocals.

Other fans inquired about a reunion with her band, No Doubt, and a tour, which has been teased since the band’s Coachella performance back in April, “How about that no doubt tour?” questioned one. “What we need is a no doubt summer concert!” another replied.

Some fans speculated that the song’s lyrics might reference Stefani’s relationship with ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale. “Ooo sounds like a good song but damn shots fired at Gavin 🔥,” one fan said. “That song has to be about Gavin!” another declared.

Stefani was married to Rossdale from 2002 to 2016, and the pair have three children together: Kingston, 18, Zuma, 14, and Apollo, 10. Their marriage ended in a highly publicized divorce, after which Stefani met country music star Blake Shelton. The two began dating in late 2015, and they got married on July 3, 2021 in an intimate ceremony at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch.
