Wheel of Fortune viewers left raging at the show for spoiling episode with embarrassing editing error
Wheel of Fortune fans were left unimpressed after a massive editing error ruined the result of the episode on Friday night.
The show was still in full swing when the trip montage was shown on screen, including a clip of contestant Nekeia Borders spinning the final prize wheel.
Unfortunately, that immediately made it clear that she was set to be victorious due to the fact was actually behind the other two contestants at the time the montage aired.
In fact, Borders was significantly trailing her opponents with only $2,000 won by that point.
Viewers quickly took to social media to check if others had noticed the telling error as one person wrote on Reddit: ‘During the trip montage they showed the winner spinning the final wheel. That happened right?’
Another viewer replied: ‘Yep, and it was a huge spoiler since she in last place when it was shown.’

‘Literally came here to see if anyone else noticed!! I’m so annoyed,’ one user vented.
One fan wrote: ‘Yes!!! I told my husband that. I said, “Wait, I think the gal in the middle is going to make it to the bonus round?? They just showed her.” That was so weird and lame.’
‘I saw it too. Said to my husband that that woman was going to win somehow,’ another shared. ‘Then they hit that $5,000 space and she started racking up money. And there it went. Couldn’t believe they showed her spinning in the final.’
One viewer wrote: ‘After we saw the spoiler and knowing how far down she was at that point, my wife guessed that the final puzzle spin had to land on $5k. Sure enough.’
Meanwhile, taking to X, formerly Twitter, one fan ranted: ‘Nice editing!! Come on. Do better than this.’
Elsewhere in the episode, viewers were left devastated for Borders after she failed to correctly guess the bones puzzle.
It meant that she lost out on $100,000 and a trip to India.
However, after making her miraculous comeback, she was more than happy to shake hands with host Ryan Seacrest and take home her $34,000 prize.

Her tough puzzle came after weeks of fan complaints that the puzzles were no longer as difficult as they once used to be.
However, most viewers appear to be happy to see so many players walking away with great puzzle wins since Seacrest took over from former host Pat Sajak.
Some fans have been slow to warm to host Ryan Seacrest, but adding him to the game show has been good for ratings.
Wheel of Fortune averaged 7.99 million viewers during Seacrest’s first month, and during that time, the show was ‘the most-watched entertainment series across broadcast, cable, and syndication,’ according to Nielsen data per Newsweek.
In January, it was revealed that the show only saw a slight drop in audience numbers by the end of 2024.
Per The Los Angeles Times, Nielsen data showed WoF earning an average of 7.9 million viewers through December 1, 2024 – which was an increase of three percent from the prior year.
