When he arrived, he was met with an unbearable sight. A massive tree had crashed through the roof of Kobe’s trailer, directly onto the spot where she had taken shelter with her sons. The impact killed Kobe instantly, and she fell onto her babies. None of them survived.

“I’d seen pictures of them when they were born and every day after, but I hadn’t made it out to meet them yet,” Obie said of his grandsons. “Now, I’ll never get to meet them. It’s devastating.”
