The initial “Jeopardy!” round saw all three contestants with a fair shake for the game. But it wouldn’t last after the first commercial break. Vinjamuri quickly caught fire after the interviews segment to wrap up the round, holding a lead of nearly double over Hirsch.

Although Harmeyer caught steam in the double “Jeopardy!” round, one slip-up in answering a question allowed Vinjamuri to take the lead. Entering the final round, the standings had grown to Vinjamuri with $13,600, Harmeyer with $10,400, and Hirsch with $7,800.
